Cae Bodfach: Secured for the Community

Cae Bodfach, a much-loved part of Llanfyllin’s natural landscape, has been permanently secured for the community thanks to the successful purchase of the land with the aid of a National Lottery grant. This achievement, supported by local fundraising and partnerships, ensures this land and surrounding green space will be protected for people and wildlife for generations to come.

Cae Bodfach is now owned and managed by Llanfyllin Town Council under the remit of its Public Amenities Committee, formed in July 2025 to safeguard and enhance this important area.

Cae Bodfach, the Wetlands and neighbouring fields are home to a rich variety of plants and animals, providing a vital habitat that supports biodiversity and ecological balance. This beautiful landscape of lush meadows and peaceful waterways also offers a much-valued recreational retreat. Residents and visitors enjoy walking, jogging, picnicking, and exploring the winding trails, making it a place where nature and community meet.

Cae Bodfach is also a focus for local conservation efforts, with community groups and partner organisations working together on tree planting, habitat restoration, and sustainable land management projects. These activities not only care for the environment but also bring people together, fostering a shared sense of pride and responsibility.

By securing the future of Cae Bodfach, Llanfyllin Town Council has protected a precious green space that offers beauty, wildlife, and wellbeing for all, now and for generations to come.

We want Cae Bodfach to become the heart of the community — a place for events, markets, and celebrations that will strengthen its role as a vibrant centre of social and cultural life in Llanfyllin.
