PTHB Better Together Consultation

Powys Teaching Health Board is inviting residents to share their views on proposals for the future of community health services in Powys through its Better Together consultation.

The consultation opens on Monday 5 October 2026 and runs until midnight on Sunday 10 January 2027.

It covers five proposals relating to adult physical and mental health community services, minor injury unit services for people aged one and over, and some diagnostic services for all ages. The Health Board is seeking views on how to ensure these services are safe and sustainable for the future.

Residents can find out more and ask questions at the local drop-in session:

Wednesday 21 October 2026
2pm–7pm
Llanfyllin Youth & Community Centre

The session is an opportunity to understand the proposals before completing the consultation questionnaire. There will be information displays, table discussions and a survey support desk, alongside a quiet space and a refreshments/waiting area.  Please be respectful towards staff and other attendees. Filming and photography will not be permitted. If the venue reaches capacity, visitors may be asked to wait or return later.

How to share your views

From 5 October, the full consultation document, a summary and the questionnaire will be available through the Better Together website.   Residents can give feedback using an online or paper questionnaire. The consultation seeks views on potential positive and negative impacts, ways to reduce adverse effects, and alternative ideas or proposals.

Consultation documents and questionnaires will be available in English and Welsh. Accessible information will include an Easy Read document and questionnaire, British Sign Language and audio versions, with other formats available on request.

To request paper copies of the consultation materials, email Powys.bettertogether@wales.nhs.uk or telephone 01874 442917.

Please take the opportunity to find out more and share your views before the consultation closes on 10 January 2027.
